United Way Dixie Quarterly Progress Report 2007-2008 As a qualified applicant agency of United Way Dixie we ask each organization to be accountable for the funds given to them. The organizations tell us where they are making a community impact with the monies given to them by filling out a progress report each quarter. Our Allocation committee reads the progress and reports to the Board of Directors the impact the money has made in our community For all United Way Funded agencies: Please download a copy of this report to your computer quarterly, fill out and return to United Way Dixie by email and mail with signatures, by the due date on report.
General InformationUnited Way Dixie endorses the concept of funding programs within agencies. Most organizations receive funding from many sources and are free to apply to United Way Dixie for support of one or more programs. ProcessEach agency seeking funding from United Way Dixie must submit an application by the date specified to be considered for funding. Teams composed of members of the Allocation Committee will review individual applications and meet with each applicant. At the conclusion of the teams’ reviews of the agencies, and after each agency has delivered a ten-minute presentation to the full Committee, the Committee will make specific individual agency allocation recommendations, based on total funds available, critical needs, and our four areas of focus. These recommendations will then be presented to United Way Dixie’s Board of Directors. After the Board has accepted the Committee’s recommendations, United Way Dixie will notify each agency of their approval for funding. SummaryThe allocation process is designed to provide optimum accessibility to agencies pursuing United Way affiliation. Paperwork and preparation time for applicants are kept to a minimum. Although the process is a relatively easy one for applicants, the Allocation Committee does assessments that are critical to representing the first steps to accountability for United Way Dixie. Invariably, agencies apply for more support than available donations will permit. Failure to be approved for funding or failure to obtain the requested level of funding through the process should in no way be construed as a criticism or indictment of an agency’s program.
