How Your Investment CountsBelow are some examples of how your investments are used by our partner agencies. Helping Children SucceedHomework Hotline: Provides instructional programs and services to strengthen diversity, broaden, educational, and resources for children. Contribution: $2.50 per week allows for the purchase of reference books for seven months. Big Brothers Big Sisters: Serving children to provide positive mentoring relationships. Contributions: $2.50 per week provides for program enhancement for one match-reduced ticket prices for admission to Event for the match. Food, rental supplies, and fees for monthly-match one year. $1 per week for one year ($52) provides for reference checking and screening of one volunteer that is wishing to become a Big Brother or Big Sister. The Learning Center for Families: Program to assist children pre-birth to age three who are disadvantaged due to development disabilities and/or extremely impoverished and living in families who are compromised by health and social problems. Contribution: $5.00 per week a week provides five blind children with specialized toys. $15.00 per week provides a year's worth of child care for a child, while parents attend parent skills classes.$5 per week for one year: ($260) provides five blind children with special adaptive toys. $10 per week for one year: ($520) provides classroom supplies for ten children each week. Supporting Vulnerable and Aging PopulationsCell Emergency Access (C.E.A.): Provide free, refurbished cell phones to dial 9-11 only to elderly, victims of domestic violence, people with health issues, and traveling alone. Alzheimer's Association: Help to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through advancement of research and to enhance care and support for individuals, their families and caregiver. Contributions: $1.00 per week provides training materials to start two new support groups for caregivers. $2.50 per week allows the implementation of one partner, with your Doctor's workshop to twenty caregivers. $10.00 per week makes educational presentation available to ten rural communities in Washington County. $1 per week for one year: ($52) ensures that we can continue to provide free brochures on Alzheimer's disease and caregiving to local families. $50 per week for one year: ($2600) provides Safe Return Bracelets for 65 local individuals with Alzheimer's disease so they can be located in case they wander and become lost. Color Country Community Housing: Elevates the quality of life for individuals and families by developing affordable housing opportunities. To provide emergency rental assistance for families in need. Contributions: $20 per week for one year: ($1040) provides four families subsidized housing for one month or homebuyer education course for 10 people. Basic Human NeedsErin Kimball Foundation: Providing transitional housing and services for women and children fleeing domestic abuse and/or violence. Contributions: $1 per week for one year: ($52) provides 25 nights of safe housing in a furnished apartment setting for homeless families fleeing violence. $50 per week for one year: ($2600) provides 1,250 nights of safe housing in a furnished apartment setting for homeless families fleeing violence. D.O.V.E. Center: Provides safe shelter and comprehensive services that support and enhance the quality of life for domestic violence victims and their children. Co-ordinates services that will enhance and support the quality of life for all women, children and families. Contributions: $1 per week for one year: ($52) Provides 4 weeks of group sessions (one per week) for 7 children. $10 per week for one year: ($520) Allows for a family of 3 7 nights of shelter. 2-1-1 Community Service Council: 2-1-1 Is a health and human service resource and referral phone line for Washington County residents. Contributions: $1 per week for one year: ($52) 12 women can receive referrals to domestic violence shelters for themselves and their children, and get connected to legal protective resources. $5 per week for one year: ($260) 64 families can receive referrals to affordable health clinics for ongoing medical care. T.U.R.N.: Support those individuals with developmental disabilities. Contributions: $1 per week for one year: ($52) provides 5 hours of respite for a family with a child with disabilities. $20 per week for one year: ($1040) provides job coaching supports to one individual for 100 days. Friends of the Volunteer Center of Washington County: An organization that has numerous volunteer opportunities in the community. One of which provides a Youth Court in Washington County, that in turn helps youth become leaders. Those leaders impose consequences to youth that have had minor offenses. Judgments are made and offending youth are made accountable for their actions. Contributions: $1 per week for one year: ($52) 25 Presidential Student Service Awards (at $2.25 per student) $50 per week for one year: ($2600) Half the match amount for a fulltime AmeriCorps member to coordinate the Youth Court program. Supporting Health and WellnessDoctor's Free Clinic: Providing quality healthcare for uninsured, underinsured and homeless individuals. Contributions: $1 per week for one year: ($52) buys a glucometer for 1 diabetic patient. $10 per week for one year: ($520) buys 1 month of diabetes medication for 15 diabetic patients or buys nebulizer machines for 10 asthma patients. Community Nursing Services: Providing quality home health care, hospice and related services. Contributions: $2.50 per week for one year: ($130) provides one physical therapy visit for one patient. $15 per week for one year: ($780) provides 22 home health aide visits. Southwest Utah Community Health Center: Providing quality dental care services in low income and uninsured individuals.
